The second was an all-terrain tyre. In the adverts, it is associated with a Touareg. This was the first time the dog appeared in the advertisements. The WHITE WALL tyre was associated with a greyhound and the BLACK WALL with a wolfhound. </span></td>

This tyre was particularly well-liked by dairies, and when it went out of production it caused problems, especially for &#8220;Le Petit&#8221;, a cheese maker who wanted to equip the whole of his fleet with this tyre, designed initially for use in snow.</span></td>

It was demonstrated to the media at the Motor Show, in the presence of the President of the Republic René Coty. He was dumbfounded by the success of the nail test. </span></td>

<h2>Descrierea producatorului:</h2>
<p>A novelty for the 2009 summer season – in the segment of summer HIGH PERFORMANCE tyres for middle and upper medium range cars.</p>
<p>Compare to its predecessors Matador MP 42 Elite 2 and Matador MP 43 Aquilla Evo, the asymmetrical tread pattern Matador MP 44 Elite 3 brings improved proporties in the area of  handling, safety on wet and dry surfaces,  comfort and life.</p>
<p>The tyre Matador MP 44 Elite 3 has been developed for medium (D-Segment) and large size (E-Segment) cars, where achieves short braking distances on both wet and dry roads and high grip when handling.</p>
<p>There will be available in 34 sizes of 15” and 16”, from width of 185 millimetres to maximum width of 225 millimetres.<br />
The tyres will be approved for speeds category  “T”  to 190 km/h (118 mph),  “H”  to 210 km/h (131 mph),  “V” to  240 km/h (149 mph),  “W” to  270 km/h (168 mph).</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>Producatorul de anvelope Michelin a raportat o scadere la 360 milioane euro a profitului net din 2008, adaugand ca piata de profil, afectata de criza auto, va avea o evolutie mai slaba in primul semestru din 2009, fata de anul trecut, arata Reuters.<span id="more-201"></span>Analistii estimeasera un profit net de 512,2 milioane euro. Compania inregistrase in 2007 un profit net de 774 milioane euro.</p>
<p>Michelin a trebuit sa reduca productia spre finalul lui 2008, in contextul scaderii vinzarilor pe piata auto, suferind costuri de 224 milioane euro in urma intreruperii productiei, potrivit NewsIn.</p>
<p>Totodata, vanzarile auto din Europa au scazut cu 27% in ianuarie, potrivit datelor asociatiei constructorilor auto europeni, ACEA, relevate vineri.</p>
<p>Profitul operational a scazut cu 44,1%, la 920 milioane euro, sau 5,6% din vanzari, fata de estimarile analistilor, de 1,06 miliarde euro.</p>
<p>Per total, vanzarile grupului au scazut cu 2,7%, la 16,408 miliarde euro, fata de estimarile analistilor chestionati de Reuters, de 16,473 miliarde euro.</p>

<div class="text_article_content"><strong>Ministerul Afacerilor Externe informează şoferii români care călătoresc în străinătate despre noul cod rutier care a intrat duminică în vigoare în Slovacia.</strong>Codul introduce noi limite de viteză, interzice folosirea tuturor sistemelor antiradar şi prevede obligaţia echipării maşinilor cu anvelope de iarnă, atunci când carosabilul este acoperit de gheaţă sau zăpadă.</p>
<p>Noile pedepse sunt foarte aspre. Pentru depăşirea vitezei, amenda ajunge până la 800 de euro şi poate atrage suspendarea permisului până la trei ani. Iar cei care nu respectă siguranţa şi fluiditatea traficului vor fi amendaţi cu sume care pot ajunge până la 650 de euro.</p>
<p>Comunicatul MAE precizează că misiunile diplomatice şi oficiile consulare ale României nu pot interveni pe langă autorităţile locale în favoarea cetăţenilor români în cazul nerespectării legislaţiei rutiere.</p>
<p>Piata anvelopelor din Romania va fi afectata doar marginal, turistii romani care viziteaza Slovacia pentru ski fiind in mare masura constienti deja de importanta folosirii anvelopelor de iarna.</p></div>

In acelasi timp, divizia de produse de cauciuc va fi transformata intr-o companie “independenta din punct de vedere legal si organizational”. Decizia este vazuta de jucatorii din piata ca o victorie a Schaeffler, care detine 90% din actiunile Continental, dupa lansarea unei preluari ostile in 2008. Schaeffler produce subansamble pentru motor si cutii de viteze sub marcile INA, FAG si Luk. In 2007, veniturile companiei au ajuns la 8,9 mld. euro. Cu vanzari anuale de 25 mld. euro in 2008, Continental este unul dintre principalii furnizori de subansamble la nivel mondial. (M.S.)</p>

Pentru alte zece societăţi, comisarii de mediu au decis sistarea activităţii. Din articol nu reise motivul exact pentru care Pirelli romania a primit amenda.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p><strong>Producatorul german de piese auto Continental vrea sa faca o majorare de capital de 1 miliard de euro si a renegociat in conditii defavorabile termenii unui credit sindicalizat de 11,8 miliarde euro, relateaza Les Echos.<span id="more-185"></span></strong>In cadrul unui interviu acordat Reuters, directorul financiar Alan Hippe a precizat ca marja de fonduri proprii de care dispune grupul poate fi inca girata, in pofida cheltuielilor pentru deprecieri de active care merg pana la 1 miliarde de euro pentru anul trecut, afisate in decembrie. Reprezentantul companiei a recomandat, totusi, prudenta, potrivit NewsIn.</p>
<p>Este atat de greu sa anticipam evolutia situatiei din anul curent, incat este foarte logic sa ne gandim la o consolidare a bazei de capital in aceleasi proportii&#8221;, a explicat Hippe.</p>
<p>In prima parte a sedintei de tranzactionare, titlurile Continental se depreciau cu 19,5%.</p>
<p>O eventuala majorare de capital va crea constrangeri asupra Schaeffler, care a devenit actionarul principal al Continental, in sensul de a injecta fonduri suplimentare, daca vrea sa isi mentina participatia la 49,9%.</p>
<p>Grupul Schaffler, care nu este cotat la bursa, a facut, insa, imprumuturi masive care sa isi majoreze participatia la Continental si nu mai poate conta pe plata unui dividend. Producatorul de componente auto a avertizat luna trecuta ca ia in considerare posibilitatea de a suspenda integral plata dividendelor pentru 2008.</p>
<p>&#8220;In principiu, singura marja de care dispunem este pentru un dividend foarte mic&#8221;, a precizat Hippe.<br />
Continental, care este prezent si in Romania, este unul dintre primii cinci furnizori de piese auto din lume si si-a stabilit vanzari de 25 miliarde euro in anul fiscal 2008. Continental produce sisteme de franare, sisteme electronice pentru masini, anvelope si alte componente auto.</p>
<p>n 18 decembrie, agentia de evaluare financiara Moody&#8217;s a coborat ratingurile pentru credite pe termen lung ale Continental AG si ale subsidiarelor sale de la &#8216;Baa3&#8242; la &#8216;Ba1&#8242;, pe fondul inrautatirii profilului de creditare, dupa ce, in 12 decembrie, agentia de rating Fitch a coborat de la &#8216;BBB-&#8217; la &#8216;BB+&#8217; ratingul pentru credite pe termen lung al Continental AG, ca urmare a deteriorarii accelerate a conditiilor de pe pietele auto, care inregistreaza scaderi masive de productie.</p>
<p>Seful asociatiei europene a furnizorilor de piese auto, Lars Holmqvist, avertiza in 15 decembrie ca in cateva luni unul din zece furnizori europeni de componente auto ar putea da faliment fara sprijin guvernamental. In opinia lui, Continental este un exemplu de companie cu afaceri solide, dar amenintata de inasprirea conditiilor de creditare.</p>
<p>Continental anunta, de altfel, in prima parte a lui decembrie ca a cerut bancilor sa pasuiasca firma pentru imprumuturi de aproape 11 miliarde euro.</p>

<p>Serviciul Anvelopeweb.ro Mobile lansat de Eurolevicom in ianuarie 2009 este primul de acest gen din Romania si vine sa completeze site-ul Anvelopeweb.ro cu o versiune optimizata pentru accesul de pe dispozitive mobile, telefoane, PDA-uri etc.</p>
<p>Utilizatorii mobili au de obicei la dispozitie ecrane mai mici si legaturi la internet cu viteze mult inferioare celor cu care sunt obisnuiti acasa si la birou. <p>Gheorghe Tofan – Gelu, cum ii spune toata lumea – e un nume care nu lipseste din nici un clasament al celor mai bogati oameni din Romania: averea trecuta alaturi de fotografia sa variaza, in functie de momentul estimarii, intre 80 si 120 mil. dolari. Mai corect, de fapt, ar fi sa spunem ca numele lui Tofan n-a lipsit din nici un clasament pana acum: creatorul imperiului Tofan, odata lider al pietei de anvelope si unul dintre cei mai mari producatori europeni, a fost exclus anul acesta din toate topurile averilor. Tofan era insa, chiar si inainte de 2008, „o fotografie miscata“. Caderea sa, o stie toata lumea, a inceput de mult – dar o certifica, de data aceasta, si concluziile analizei pe care a facut-o lichidatorul companiei si pe care MONEY EXPRESS le prezinta acum in premiera.<span id="more-179"></span></p>
<p>Dincolo de cauzele prabusirii businessului Tofan, ramane de actualitate o intrebare: cu ce se alege Gelu Tofan, pana la urma, dupa falimentul multora dintre companiile sale? Si care ar fi premisele de la care ar putea porni omul de afaceri pentru a reveni in lumea marelui business si, implicit, in topurile celor mai bogati romani?</p>
<p>Raspunsurile nu sunt usor de dat, mai ales in conditiile in care Gelu Tofan a amanat in mod repetat, pe parcursul intregului an 2008, numeroasele solicitari de interviu facute de MONEY EXPRESS.</p>
<p>Dar un scenariu poate fi, totusi, conturat.</p>
<p><strong>O ZI IMPORTANTA. </strong>Ziua de 21 noiembrie 2008 e una importanta pentru Gelu Tofan: Tribunalul Bucuresti a aprobat, atunci, scoaterea de sub sechestru, in vederea vanzarii, a circa 90 de hectare de teren apartinand fostului producator de anvelope Danubiana, pe vremuri perla grupului de firme Tofan. Numele potentialului cumparator, Minded Realty Services SRL, nu spune prea multe: in spatele sau se afla insa cel mai important creditor al lui Gelu Tofan, compania Central Eastern European Real Estate Shareholdings B.V. Olanda, care a preluat dreptul de recuperare a datoriilor pe care Danubiana lui Gelu Tofan le-a acumulat de-a lungul anilor la BCR – e vorba de circa 8 mil. euro. Trebuie spus, din capul locului, ca Gelu Tofan nu mai este astazi administratorul afacerii Danubiana, sarcina fiind preluata de un lichidator – Consulta 99 Bucuresti.</p>
<p>Termenii tranzactiei prin care lichidatorul urma sa vanda – in numele Danubiana – cele 90 de hectare de teren au fost discutati, potrivit unor surse apropiate negocierilor, la inceputul lui 2008. Terenurile fostei fabrici de anvelope – situata in sudul Bucurestiului, in interiorul inelului de centura – ramasesera cea mai buna speranta a lui Tofan de iesire din incercuire, iar cresterea accelerata a preturilor pentru terenurile din jurul Capitalei parea un dar ceresc. De altfel, de cand a preluat administrarea Danubiana, lichidatorul – Consulta 99 – a stins o parte dintre datorii tocmai vanzand teren: in 2006, cand a intrat in insolventa, Danubiana mai avea circa 125 ha de teren, iar lichidatorul a vandut, in doua transe – in august 2007 si mai 2008 –, 22 ha, respectiv 6 ha.</p>
<p>Banii obtinuti din vanzarea celor doua suprafete de teren – ceva mai mult de 5 mil. euro – au ajuns la trei dintre creditori: Finansbank (actuala <a class="linkuri" title="Alte articole despre Credit Europe Bank" href="http://www.moneyexpress.ro/detalii/credit_europe_bank.html">Credit Europe Bank</a>), Romexterra si Distrigaz. Totodata, „a fost platita si o parte din datoria catre stat, creandu-se si o rezerva financiara pentru cei 20 de angajati care au mai ramas la Danubiana sa asigure paza societatii“, a explicat pentru MONEY EXPRESS Cornel Florea, omul care se ocupa in prezent de lichidarea Danubiana si care a studiat in amanunt mecanismele care au dus la prabusirea afacerilor lui Gelu Tofan.</p>
<p><strong>SPERANTE NARUITE?</strong> Dar sperantele lui Tofan ca va obtine un pret bun pe cele peste 90 de hectare de teren care i-au ramas – surse apropiate negocierilor dintre lichidator si cumparator spun ca discutia s-a purtat in jurul sumei de 30 mil. de euro – au inceput sa se risipeasca pe masura ce pe piata imobiliara s-a instalat ingrijorarea: inca din toamna au aparut primele semne de blocaj, unul dintre efecte fiind scaderea accelerata a preturilor terenurilor. Procedurile judiciare de finalizare a acestei tranzactii ar trebui incheiate, potrivit lichidatorului, in mai 2009, insa Cornel Florea e destul de sceptic ca lucrurile vor fi duse la bun sfarsit conform planului initial. E de asteptat, a explicat el in discutia cu MONEY EXPRESS, ca – pe fondul crizei financiare – actualii creditori sa nu mai fie dispusi sa preia terenurile lui Tofan la preturile convenite la inceputul lui 2008. Si daca tranzactia nu va avea loc, situatia si asa suficient de incalcita a grupului Tofan se va complica si mai mult: numarul proceselor pe care Gelu Tofan le are cu diversi creditori si parteneri de afaceri e oricum de ordinul zecilor.</p>
<p>Se adauga, la toate acestea, si problema AVAS, care inca detine o cota de 9,85% din Danubiana. In 1995, cand a intrat in actionariatul Danubiana, Gelu Tofan s-a angajat sa investeasca in companie circa 40 mil. dolari. Lichidatorul spune ca investitiile facute in timp totalizeaza abia 17 mil. dolari. Presupunand ca Tofan ar vrea si ar avea de unde sa investeasca si cele 23 mil. dolari ramasi, tot nu s-ar mai putea achita de obligatie: procedurile de faliment au fost deja demarate si n-ar fi o surpriza ca si AVAS sa se in drepte impotriva lui Tofan, argumentand ca acesta a incalcat clauzele din contractul de privatizare.</p>
<p>Danubiana mai are, in momentul de fata, datorii ce circa 15 mil. euro: cea mai mare parte, de 8 mil. euro, catre Central Eastern European Real Estate Shareholdings B.V. Olanda, restul de 7 mil. euro fiind revendicati de furnizori mai mici si de statul roman.</p>
<p>Ce rezulta de aici? Ca, daca cele 90 de hectare ale Danubiana s-ar vinde in cele din urma la valoarea estimata in toamna (circa 30 mil. euro), atunci in conturile Tofan Grup SA – actionarul majoritar, cu 83,5% al Danubiana – ar putea intra in final, dupa stingerea tuturor datoriilor, circa 12,5 mil. euro. Acestia ar fi banii cu care ar putea ramane Gelu Tofan – nu luam aici in calcul eventualele daune sau compensatii pe care le-ar putea cere AVAS – dupa lichidarea completa a companiei Danubiana. Foarte putin, daca termenul de referinta sunt cele circa 100 mil. dolari ai lui Tofan din clasamentele celor mai bogati romani. Foarte mult, insa, din perspectiva faptului ca nimeni nu mai da acum pe un teren, oricat de bun ar fi, banii pe care i-ar fi dat asta-vara.</p>
<p><strong>DOSARUL FALIMENTULUI.</strong> Acum doi ani, cand ceea ce se intampla azi cu Danubiana ar fi parut un scenariu catastrofic, Gelu Tofan vorbea despre prima criza de lichiditati cu care se confrunta compania in ultimii 15 ani, despre cresterea costurilor de productie, despre impactul negativ pe care cursul euro-leu il avea asupra businessului. Lucrurile s-au clarificat in timp, iar tabloul e astazi complet. Intreaga istorie a grupului Tofan, inclusiv zbuciumul ultimilor ani, e inchisa intre copertile unui dosar de la Tribunalul Bucuresti.</p>
<p>Autorul radiografiei, economistul Cornel Florea, imparte cauzele care au dus la declin in „interne si externe“. Cele externe se refera, in esenta, la fluctuatiile cursului de schimb valutar – Danubiana exporta 60% din productie – si la cresterea preturilor utilitatilor si materiilor prime. Tot aici intra si problema productiei interne de utilaje agricole, camioane si autobuze, productie de care grupul lui Gelu Tofan devenise, cu timpul, dependent. In 2001, Tofan se vazuse nevoit sa vanda catre producatorul francez Michelin partea de productie a anvelopelor pentru autoturisme pentru a-si achita un credit mai vechi, de circa 100 mil. dolari, pe care-l luase pentru dezvoltarea afacerilor sale. Asa a ramas Tofan numai cu fabricile Danubiana Bucuresti si Rotras Turnu Severin, care produceau doar anvelope speciale – pentru tractoare, utilaje agricole, camioane.</p>
<p>Dar „cauzele interne“ ale declinului care ar fi? „Strategii si tactici manageriale gresite de creare si alocare a resurselor financiare pentru dezvoltare“, spune Florea, „concretizate in investitii ineficiente, cu valoare adaugata mica, perioada de recuperare mare si impact negativ asupra costurilor“. Sau, in mai putine cuvinte, greseli manageriale.</p>
<p><strong>„O DEZVOLTARE HAOTICA“. </strong>S-ar putea adauga, aici, si faptul ca Gelu Tofan parea la un moment dat sa fi pierdut controlul propriilor businessuri: omul de afaceri isi impartea energia si resursele intre productia de anvelope, morarit, media, editare de programe. O expunere care avea sa-l coste mai tarziu. „A avut o dezvoltare haotica, in toate directiile“, spune un fost partener de afaceri al lui Tofan pe zona media, Alexandru Lazescu, unul dintre fondatorii retelei de cotidiene locale „Monitorul“. „Nu mai detinea controlul, nu stia ce se intampla in firmele lui“, adauga Lazescu, care e convins ca Tofan e astazi prizonier al propriilor decizii din trecut.</p>
<p>Un alt fost partener de afaceri al lui Tofan a spus intr-o discutie cu MONEY EXPRESS, sub rezerva anonimatului, ca omului de afaceri ii lipsea flexibilitatea si ca imperiul Tofan – doar Danubiana avea 2.700 de angajati – „era de fapt un mamut cu picioarele de lut“. Lichidatorul mentioneaza si el, in raportul sau, ca la Danubiana se practicau politici pagubitoare: clientii erau alesi dupa alte criterii decat cele de piata, necesarul de materiale si utilaje era gresit apreciat. Cornel Florea vorbeste si de greseli in materie de restructurari: „Au fost reduceri fortate de personal, fara baze reale, dar cu influente notabile asupra calitatii produselor si disciplinei tehnologice“, spune el, adaugand ca „eroarea fundamentala“ a fost aceea ca managementul Tofan a trecut la executarea unui plan de restructurare fara sa-si asigure, inainte, sursele de finantare.</p>
<p>In mare, acestea ar fi cauzele care au facut ca Danubiana sa parcurga, in cativa ani, drumul de la vanzari anuale de 100 mil. dolari la procedura de faliment. „Gelu Tofan era ca un conducator de armata medieval care intra intr-un razboi din fuga calului, agitand sabia deasupra capului“, spune Alexandru Lazescu, dar se trezea la un moment dat „cu dusmanul in fata si armata proprie mult in spatele lui“.</p>
<p><strong>PLANURI DE SALVARE. </strong>Comparatia facuta de Lazescu nu e, insa, doar o declaratie colorata: Tofan, in ciuda faptului ca ultimii ani i-au adus mai multe infrangeri decat victorii, nu s-a dat batut inca. O dovedesc nenumaratele incercari de salvare a Danubianei: de pilda, cand a simtit ca lucrurile se indreapta pe un fagas gresit, a adus la carma companiei un manager italian, pe Guido Castelluccio, recrutat de la combinatul Fibrex din Savinesti. Solutia Castelluccio n-a dat rezultate, iar cei doi s-au despartit, dupa doi ani, pe cale amiabila. Apoi, Tofan a incercat o vanzare, dar potentiala tranzactie cu gigantul italian <span class="linkuri">Pirelli</span> s-a pierdut, pana la urma, undeva in faza tatonarilor. Nici al treilea plan, cel de a-l aduce in business pe fiul sau, Adrian, care a facut studii de management al afacerilor in Statele Unite, n-a dat rezultate: era, poate, mult prea tarziu.</p>
<p>Ultima incercare a lui Tofan de a-si salva compania s-a petrecut in ianuarie 2008, inainte de declansarea procedurilor de faliment pentru Danubiana SA. Atunci, Gelu Tofan a pregatit un plan de reorganizare a societatii care avea doua variante: prima era sa majoreze cu 20 mil. euro capitalul social, a doua sa vanda o parte din acele active care nu contribuiau oricum la productie – e vorba de terenuri – pentru a obtine banii de care avea nevoie pentru repornirea activitatii. Prima varianta a fost considerata de Tribunalul Bucuresti de neadmis, de vreme ce, potrivit lichidatorului, Gelu Tofan – reprezentat de fiul sau, Adrian – nu indicase surse de finantare. Cea de-a doua varianta, care presupunea repornirea productiei cu banii obtinuti din vanzarea de terenuri, nu a fost pe placul creditorilor, care au votat impotriva. In concluzie, nici acest ultim plan al lui Tofan de a-si salva compania n-a functionat: Tribunalul Bucuresti, sectia comerciala, decidea la 25 ianuarie 2008 declansarea procedurii de faliment la Danubiana.</p>
<p><strong>UN SFARSIT E UN INCEPUT. </strong>Cine l-a cautat pe Gelu Tofan in lunile scurse dupa hotararea tribunalului stie ca omul de afaceri incepuse deja sa petreaca tot mai mult timp in satul natal, Todireni (Botosani). Nu, Tofan nu si-a propus sa faca ceea ce a facut oligarhul rus Gherman Sterligov, care si-a mutat familia la tara, intr-o casuta fara curent si cu cel mai apropiat vecin la 11 km distanta, si care declara in vara lui 2006 pentru BBC ca e mai fericit ca niciodata, desi toti banii care-i mai ramasesera erau cei din portofel, „dar am gaste, ceva vite, un berbec si acum puii astia de curcan“, adauga el. Totusi, Tofan vorbea intr-un interviu publicat in primavara, in „Monitorul de Botosani“, despre iminenta sa intoarcere acasa, recunoscand ca a trecut printr-o perioada grea, in care unele companii ii intrasera in insolventa si altele in lichidare.</p>
<p>„Am reusit sa depasim acest lucru, si companiile trecute prin acest purgatoriu, cele care s-au dovedit viabile“, mai spunea Tofan, „pot sa renasca acum la Todireni – putem sa-i spunem chiar un nou inceput“. Omul de afaceri avea deja la Todireni, atunci, o moara si doua proiecte de dezvoltare pentru producatorii de paine si cultivatorii de grau. E drept, distanta pe care a parcurs-o din perioada in care Theodor Stolojan ii era angajat sau cea in care incerca, alaturi de nume grele ale businessului autohton, ca Dan Voiculescu sau Sorin Ovidiu Vantu, sa preia <span class="linkuri">Petrom</span>, este acum, privita din exterior, aproape imposibil de recuperat.</p>
<p>Unele dintre ideile lui Gelu Tofan, cum ar fi cea de a-si cumpara un avion de mici dimensiuni cu care sa aterizeze pe pasunile Todirenului, starnesc mai degraba zambete. Dar fostul rege al cauciucurilor, cum era supranumit in anii ’90, nu s-a dat batut. In octombrie 2008 a infiintat doua firme noi, amandoua cu sediul la Todireni: Tofan Agro Production SRL, care are ca domeniu de activitate cultivarea cerealelor si a altor plante, si Bio Consulting Energy SRL, cu activitati de consultanta pentru afaceri si management. Putem sa-i spunem un nou inceput?</p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size:medium;">Danubiana, sfarsit de capitol </span></strong></p>
<p><strong>Povestea marilor afaceri ale lui Gelu Tofan incepe in 1995 si se incheie 13 ani mai tarziu, cand Danubiana – cea mai importanta dintre firmele sale – intra mai intai intr-un blocaj financiar, urmat de demararea procedurilor de faliment. </strong></p>
<p><strong>1995.</strong> Danubiana SA este privatizata de FPS – Fondul Proprietatii de Stat, actuala AVAS –, iar Tofan Grup SA cumpara pachetul majoritar de actiuni.</p>
<p><strong>1997.</strong> Gelu Tofan incheie cel mai mare deal al acelor vremuri: o infuzie de capital, un imprumut in valoare de 100 mil. dolari de la Nomura Securities, o banca de investitii cu sediul in Londra.</p>
<p><strong>1999. </strong>Gelu Tofan il angajeaza pe Theodor Stolojan, fost premier al Romaniei si finantist al Bancii Mondiale.</p>
<p><strong>2001. </strong>Tofan Grup vinde catre producatorul francez Michelin doua fabrici de anvelope (Silvania Zalau si Victoria Floresti) si Tofan Recap, care resapa anvelope. Tranzactia a fost estimata la acea vreme la 100 mil. dolari, din care 90 mil. dolari revin Nomura. Dupa vanzare, incep problemele Grupului Tofan.</p>
<p><strong>2002. </strong>Un fost angajat, Stefan Radulescu, este acuzat de Gelu Tofan ca ar fi facut mai multe falsuri prin care ar fi obtinut controlul Tofan Trans (beneficiara parcului auto al grupului) si Rotras SA Turnu Severin, a doua fabrica de cauciucuri, dupa Danubiana, ramasa in Tofan Grup dupa afacerea cu Michelin. Procesul penal inca nu s-a incheiat.</p>
<p><strong>2006.</strong> Gelu Tofan este atacat in plina strada, in cartierul bucurestean Dristor, existand suspiciuni ca agresiunea avea legatura cu afacerile in care era implicat. Ancheta politistilor nu a stabilit, pana acum, cine au fost agresorii.</p>
<p><strong>2006.</strong> DNA incepe o ancheta – nefinalizata inca – pe marginea unei afaceri dintre Tofan Grup si Statul Major al Fortelor Terestre. Conform DNA, Tofan Grup a dat Armatei 6.000 de anvelope in schimbul a 4.000 de autovehicule, contract derulat in perioada 2000–2004.</p>
<p><strong>2006. </strong>Danubiana intra in insolventa si lichidatorul trece la vanzarea activelor pentru acoperirea datoriilor.</p>
<p><strong>2008.</strong> Tribunalul Bucuresti hotaraste intrarea Danubiana SA in procedura de faliment.</p>

<p><strong>Doar cinci din cele 26 companii la care este actionar Gelu Tofan au afisate pe site-ul Ministerului Finantelor rezultatele financiare pe anul 2007. Pentru alte cinci firme sunt postate rezultatele financiare pana in 2005. Majoritatea firmelor sale se afla in diverse stadii de lichidare sau reorganizare.</strong></p>
